In line with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) notification of 4th November 2011, the validity of all cheques, drafts, pay orders and banker cheques will be for 3 months only. This is effective 1st April 2012.
Therefore, kindly ensure that all such instruments, from 1st April 2012, are presented within 3 months of the date on the instrument, for successful clearance. Please note that instruments presented after a period of 3 months may not be cleared.
This change is applicable across all banks in India, and covers all instruments that are issued or received by you.
