Radhakrishnan of Kuthambakkam - man behind the model village

தமிழகத்தின் மிகச் சிறந்த கிராமம் என்று பாராட்டு பெற்ற இருளப்பாலயம் (பூந்தமல்லி அருகே) - குத்தம்பாக்கம் - இன்று திரு இளங்கோ எம் டெக் அவர்களால் பெருமை பெற்றுள்ளது. கனி பறித்து சந்தைப் படுத்துபவர்களை தான் மக்கள் அறிவர். விதை இட்டவர்களை யாருக்கும் தெரிய ஞாயமில்லை. அது போல ராதாக்ருஷ்ணன் எனும் ராதைமணாளன் பற்றி பலருக்கும் தெரியாது. ஒரு கிராமத்தில் வீதி இல்லை, கட்டிட வீடு இல்லை, பள்ளிகள் இல்லை, மருத்துவ வசதி இல்லை. குடிக்கும் மக்கள் குடி மக்களை விஞ்சியது. அப்போது உரத்த சிந்தனை அமைப்புடன் தொடர்பு கொண்டு 20 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு - மருத்துவ முகாம், கல்வி முகாம், உணவு உதவி, கல்வி உதவி எல்லாமே பெற்றிட உதயம் ராம், ராஜசேகர், இதயகீதம் ராமானுஜம் போன்ற இளைஞர்களைக் கொண்டு பற்பல நன்மைகளை கிராமத்திற்கு கொண்டு சேர்த்து அந்த ஊர் பஞ்சாயத்தின் துணை தலைவராக இருந்து சேவை செய்தவர் திரு ராதாகிருஷ்ணன் அவர்கள் - இன்று ஒரு இயற்கை மருத்துவராகவும் சமூக ஆர்வலராகவும் இருக்கிறார்.
Kuthambakkam is today well known as an ideal village in Tamilnadu. It is because of the sheer hardwork by the panchayat President Mr. Ilango, M. Tech. But well before the initiative was taken by him, there was a guy called Mr. Radhakrishnan (Rathaimanaalan) - Vice president in the panchaayat. He helped in bringing a big revolution in the village. He approached the honorable members of Uratha Sinthanai - a voluntary forum headed by Udayam Ram, Rajasekar and Ithayageetham Ramanujam - who went there week on week for more than 4 years some 20 years back - with education camp, medical camp, educational assistance, medical assistance to people over there. Radhakrishnan played a vital role at that time. Seeds are never visible but the fruits in a tree. If there is a seed in the growth in this village - it is Radhakrishnan who is to be admired. Today he is a Naturopathy doctor and a social activist.
