In this digital era, everyone wants to be popular and recognized. It is very rare to see humble achievers. Even if one has plans to write books he declares it in the media/social media and to friends. I was very proud and very excited to meet a person who is 83 years young and still very active. He is fondly referred as 'Father of South Indian Agriculture by Farmers' and he has lived his whole life serving poor farmers. He only found 'PONNI' rice and he has authored not less than 10 books. He is a very humble scientist in the field of agriculture. He is none other than Sri S. S. Nagarajan. His name was nominated for 'Padma Shri: more than twice - very unfortunately he was conferred for obvious reasons. He has been honored and awarded with the apt title as 'Seva Chakra Award' for life time contribution in Agriculture. He has also been awarded as an author media resource for five decades. He served TAFE as the Senior Vice President till May 30, 2014. Even now people seek his guidance for farming and agricultural nuances. He is also the proud father of most renowned Trainer and therapist (multi-talented expert) and MMA fame Ms. S.N. Padmaja. The competent authorities happen to see this note of appreciation, they would surely take up the matter to bring the due honor to Sri Nagarajan Sir for his excellent services in the field of agriculture. I admire him today with lots of respect and sincerity.

கணினி மயமாக்கப்பட்ட இந்த நவ யுகத்தில் விவசாயம் பற்றி யார் சிந்திக்கிறார்கள்? அக்கறையோடு அது பற்றி செயல்படுகிறார்கள்? கணினி கஞ்சி ஊத்தாது என்பது புரியும் நாள் வெகு தொலைவில் இல்லை. உணவுப் பாதுகாப்பு மற்றும் உலகம் வெப்பமாதல், தட்பவெட்ப நிலை தொடர் மாற்றம், மொட்டை மாடி தோட்டம் என்ற விஷயங்கள் பற்றி பயந்து போய் பேசிக்கொண்டு இருக்கும் நிலையில் 83 வயது நிறை இளைஞர் ஒருவர் - S.S.நாகராஜன் - விவசாய விஞ்ஞானி - விவசாயிகளின் தந்தை என்று செல்லமாக மரியாதையோடு போற்றப் படுகிறவர் - 10க்கும் மேற்பட்ட நூல்களை எழுதியவர் - இவரை நேற்று ஒரு கூட்டத்தில் நேரடியாக சந்திக்கும் அரிய நல்வாய்ப்பு கிட்டியது. கடந்த மே மாதம் வரை TAFE நிறுவனத்தின் மூத்த துணைத் தலைவராக பணியாற்றி உள்ளார். இன்னும் இவரைத் தேடி வந்து ஆசி பெற, ஆலோசனை பெற மக்கள் வந்த வண்ணம் இருக்கின்றனர். புரியாத இருப்பினும் புரிந்த காரணங்களால் இவரது பெயர் இரு முறை பத்மஸ்ரீ விருதுக்கு பரிந்துரைக்கப் பட்டும் விருது கிடைக்கவில்லை. பொன்னி அரிசி இவர் கண்டுபிடுப்பு தான். இந்த விருது (விருந்து) தனை சாப்பிடும் போதெல்லாம் நாம் நினைக்கத் தான் செய்வோம். 'சேவா சக்ரா விருது' இவருக்கு வழங்கி பெருமைப்பட்டது ஒரு நிறுவனம். வாழ் நாள் முழுதும் தனது விவசாயத் துறை சார்ந்த எழுத்தக்கள் குறித்து இவருக்குப் பாராட்டு வழங்கப் பட்டது. இவரது மகள் தான் MMA புகழ், யாவரும் அறிந்த பல்கலை வித்தகி, பயிற்சியாளர் திருமதி எஸ். என். பத்மஜா அவர்கள். இந்த பெருமைக்கு உரிய மாமனிதரை இன்று போற்றி வணங்கி பாராட்டி மகிழ்கிறேன். இவர் பற்றிய இந்த குறிப்பை முகநூலில் உரிய நபர் காண நேரிடின் இவருக்கு உரிய அங்கீகாரம் தனை பரிந்து உரைக்க வாய்ப்பு உள்ளது என்று எனக்குள் பட்சி சொல்கிறது. வாழ்க இவர் தம் அரிய பணி. விளைநிலம் உள்ள வரை இவர் புகழ் வாழ்க.
